BIOGRAPHY:
Helen is a freelance writer and author of “High Fashion-High Adventure,” a book of essays. A style editor for “Today’s Dallas Woman” magazine, contributor for “Sports Afield,” a national magazine, and a columnist for “Explore Corsicana,” a quarterly magazine. Her home is in the beautiful and historical town of Corsicana, Texas.
As a former top, high-fashion model, Helen has appeared in dozens of designer shows, including Balenciaga, James Galanos (named the greatest American designer by Stanley Marcus), Marc Bohan for Christian Dior, Karl Lagerfeld, and Oscar De LaRenta. She was featured in shows for Bob Mackie, Donna Karan, Pauline Trigere, Valentino, and Givenchy.
As a photographers’ model, she traveled to locations in Hawaii for United Airlines, Key West for the Neiman Marcus catalog, and to the Bahamas for James Galano’s fashion shows. Most notably, she became one of fashion photographer, Victor Skrebneski’s, top models and was featured in his art book titled, “Skrebneski.”
Agent Kathy Tyner named Helen: “The most outstanding model we ever had; amazing and absolutely breathtaking on the runway.” Agent Kim Dawson would tell her new models to watch Helen work, naming her runway technique ‘The Helen Martin Walk.’
